Welcome to the Principal's Page

Hello, my name is Shirley Gooden-Graham, and I am honored to be the principal at Woodlawn Magnet High School.  I would like to welcome you to our web page! As you browse through the different areas, I hope you enjoy learning about our school.
Woodlawn Magnet High School is rich in history and strives toward academic excellence. We take pride in our faculty, staff, and students. We believe that as a cohesive family, we are able to make great strides.

For more than fifty years, students have found challenging and enriching educational experiences which enable them to become confident and lifelong learners. In addition, each classroom at Woodlawn High School is equipped with integrated computer systems, which links our students to the global information network. A moderate student to teacher ratio and a spacious campus offers students the opportunity to experience, investigate, and be truly engaged in learning. A curricular framework exists to allow academic areas to be woven together in a meaningful manner. Enrichment activities compliment the academic picture by closely integrating fine arts, physical activities, and social skills development. Every aspect of our curriculum is designed to capitalize on each student’s interests and strengths.

We offer our parents and students a dedicated and gifted staff of enthusiastic, energetic professionals who focus on the needs of individual students in a well-planned and organized setting. Our motto, "It takes a village", reflects the heart of our school and our desire to ensure that each child is allowed to reach his or her maximum potential. With our process of continuous improvement, changes always come. We will continue to maintain the focus on our student friendly traditions and ensure a quality education for all Woodlawn Colonels.

Mrs. Shirley G. Graham, Principal
